It was just a dream.
Co-founders Tam Le and Executive Chef Peter Nguyen both came from families that immigrated to America from post-war Vietnam. Tam’s father opened Pho Hoa in Dorchester in 1992, and coincidentally Peter and his family lived a block away and were regulars. One would say Peter and Tam coming together was meant to be. Lê Madeline is a third generation Vietnamese restaurant in North Quincy, starting out as a second location for Pho Hoa in 2008 , before Tam took the helm and introduced Pho Linh in 2014. After 10 years and barely surviving covid, Tam was ready to breath new life into shop in 2024.
Enter Executive Chef Peter Nguyen. Fresh from a formulative experience as Chef De Cuisine at the critically acclaimed Riel in Houston, Texas, Peter moved back home to Boston ready to make his mark. With prior experiences ranging from his time at Little Donkey, to his favorite memories of meals at home with his family, Peter sought to create food authentic in flavor, and creative in execution.
The team of Sous Chef Brian Nguyen, Beverage Director Mitch Kelley and Managers Toni Casoli and Su Pantuyakorn have helped to craft a reimagined Vietnamese dining experience. Rooted in Vietnamese tradition, but inspired by our American experience, Lê Madeline has been a joy to build one table at a time.
